One Room Challenge Week 2

Welcome to week 2 of the One Room Challenge! Today, we're talking plans and mood boards. The photo above is the feel I kind of want for the dining room. I've decided that I'm just gonna paint the room yellow (babouche)! And with a name like that, it's gonna be bomb diggity! The heartmate is totally side-eyeing me right now. He thinks it's gonna be too in-your-face. So I also got navy (hague blue) just in case the yellow is too much. I feel like navy is too dark for a room without any windows. Yellow will really brighten it up, yes? It's my first time using Farrow & Ball paint so I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Here's the dining room situation at the moment. The walls are way too bare so I'm adding a chair rail and picture frame moulding from Metrie. It's definitely going to add depth and interest to the walls. I'm really excited! And it'll go great with that weird polygon frame, too.

Here's our new dining room! Lol...in my dreams! This is what inspired me to add moulding. It looks so pretty, right?

I did a quick paint test on the walls and I like them both! What to do? The Hague blue isn't as dark as I thought it would be. Decisions, decisions! All the moulding pieces arrived and we're installing it today! I'll share all the details about the install next week.

Here's a quick sketch of the dining room. We're bringing in a new handsome dining table, comfy chairs, and a Jonathan Adler chandelier. Oh hells yes! I can't wait for that gorgeousness to happen. Artworks are just placeholders for now. They're from a New Orleans artist, Leroy Miranda Jr. I still need to find a rug which has been a bit of a challenge. I don't know if I should go with something neutral or a vintage Persian rug? Stay tuned for next week! It's been really fun watching other designers completely gut their rooms which makes me want to open up my dining room! But we're not gonna do that. I don't think so? Haha.
