Wandering Around the French Quarter

Sponsored by Old Navy

It’s been about two months since I last wandered around the French Quarter. I was away finishing up some projects in LA followed by an epic Iceland trip. So I’m so super excited to be home and to sleep in my own bed and snuggle up with the pups. Oh, and the heartmate, too, I guess. Haha.

Whenever I’m in the Quarter, I always find something new, whether it be a shop, plants, or a paint color, no matter how many times I’ve strolled down these uneven streets and sidewalks. All the beautiful color combinations in the quarter gives me so much life.

I also came back just in time for sweater weather! Hooray! I skipped out on the hottest months here. It was all part of my perfect plan. Shh…don’t tell the heartmate. It actually gets colder here than in Los Angeles, because of the humidity. I love it. So for fall, I like to go for a casual-preppy look with my layering. Think military meets school chic. I also love jewel tones for the holidays. My go-to is a slim white button-up layered under a sweater, like this soft burgundy crew, and paired with denim. Then, I throw on a light olive bomber jacket over it to give it that edge. I love that the bomber came back big time this year. They kind of go with everything, almost like a motorcycle jacket. I also love that orange peek-a-boo lining.
